OARC Volunteer Examiner (VE) Testing

The next VE testing date in Owensboro will be on September 26 at the Owensboro HealthPark located at 1006 Ford Avenue in Owensboro. Testing for all license classes will begin at 9:00 a.m. Those wishing to take an exam must have a FCC registration number (FRN) in order to be tested. Currently licensed amateur radio operators that wish to upgrade to a higher class need to bring a copy of their current license to the session. The fee to take an exam is $15.00 and can be paid by check or cash. Walk-ins will be admitted, but we prefer that those wishing to be tested advise VE Team Leader Steve Morgan W4NHO in advance with an email to [email protected]. Those who preregister will be processed first on the day of the test.

Parking is available in the lot off Robin Road. Enter the HealthPark at entrance C and check in with the receptionist.

If you don’t have a personal copy of an amateur radio license manual, there are copies available at the Daviess County Public Library. Other resources for preparing for an exam are the American Radio Relay League website and HamStudy.org.
